This is a very slow burning powder for use in 9MM and is on the, perhaps, farthest end of the spectrum for use in this caliber. Some say this is very similar to Accurate #7, and it is pretty similar. In our experience, the lot of D037.1 we tested requires more powder to achieve the same velocity as Accurate #7. We believe "Major Pistol, or D037.1" is the cleanest 9MM powder you can buy. Look at the cases below. If it isn't the cleanest, its top tier for sure. Astoundingly clean.

A fine spherical powder. A lot can fit into a case. More than you will ever need. This makes this powder more dangerous if you make a reloading error.

What do you think this powder is for? If you read the name "MAJOR PISTOL" you have your answer. The marketing behind this is for people to buy it in race guns that do 165+ power factor, or what is called 9MM Major loads. That is a very niche audience in the world of 9MM shooters. In our opinion, the company could do a better job marketing this product because without a shadow of a doubt, this is a top tier powder in 9MM, and versatile. Its the cleanest burning powder we tested, we think. Its this powder and then some "near" it, but most are not even close. For the price of this powder, the accuracy, how clean it burns, its versatility, availability and exceptionally easy metering? This powder is near the top to compete with the best 9MM Powder you can buy with money.

Above average accuracy. High performance, good velocities. There is no load data for 90 grain bullets, and looking at the primers, 9.5 grains is nowhere near what we could have used. We have no doubt this powder can easily do 1550 FPS using a 90 grain bullet without blowing primers.
